Mission

Head of Department, you will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment. You will be responsible for carrying out formulation and physicochemical characterization tests of road binders, assessing their mechanical and thermal performance, and developing new testing methods for the characterization of road binders, in support of research projects and technical assistance activities.

Main Responsibilities

Manufacture and chemically characterize road binders in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Evaluate their mechanical and thermal performance in the laboratory.
Develop and establish experimental testing protocols.
Take responsibility for standard laboratory equipment and ensure its maintenance. Ensure that all equipment is properly calibrated and in optimal working condition.
Communicate results through written reports and oral presentations.
Train and mentor less experienced staff.
Comply with all applicable regulatory and company-specific standards and policies relating to HSE, quality, and IT tools.

Profile

Experienced senior technician with a Bac +2 / two-year higher education degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Materials Science.
You have knowledge of formulation, emulsion techniques, and physicochemical characterization of materials, ideally within the road construction industry or related fields.
Analytical skills, critical thinking, adaptability, strong writing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are key strengths for succeeding in this position.

Technical knowledge: Bitumen, Surfactants, Mineral oils and solvents, Plant-based derivatives, Latex, Resins, Polymers

Emulsions: Formulation, Emulsion techniques, Characterization of emulsions
